I've been experimenting with something similar myself, so what do I think? I'm diggin' it! I've been tinkering with circle based clocks (rotating concentric rings, one for month, day, hour, minutes, seconds) as well as bar clocks (climbing up, falling down, going left, going right), so I guess that leads me to ask... are your bars animated or static in their position? The animated bars are cool but I don't always want that much "action" on my desktop.
Keep it up, I would love to compare notes so maybe I'll get something of mine posted in the next day or two so you can check out my work in progress.
Cool. In this screen I've just got static bars but I've been working on a script that generates the bars on the fly with imagemagick. (more info [link]) I do however note that cpu usage is higher than I would like when generating the bars very regularly i.e. having a seconds bar that grows every second.
As far as circular clocks go I'm also tinkering with that idea. I'm working on achieving a clock to match my Neon Volume Indicator (to be released soon) and the Neon Bowtie theme.
Check these screenshots for an idea of what I mean - [link] - [link]
How are you generating the images?
It would be cool to compare notes I hope to release soon but I've had little time lately and progress has slowed down to a crawl unfortunately
Hmm yeah, but im not 18 yet and my skills on the computer aren't good enough to even think of spending money on that type of mac. And even if i could connect it to my tv, it would just defeat the point of having a MACBOOK in the first place. Besides, 13 inches and 1280*800 with a LED isn't too bad..
